Inauguration of President of Obama

Ok, so I was talking to Sister Betty the other day, and I was telling her about what a great experience I had when I volunteered at the Inauguration of President Obama. (I also told her about how I fell and broke my ribs during my volunteer experience, but that is another story all together!) Any way I got to take some great photos, but because I was a volunteer I was also afforded the wonderful opportunity to get copies of photos from all of the other volunteers who were volunteering at various other areas of the Inauguration. Sooooo the photos in this post and in the posts above this this are from that wonderful day. I have to say, I will remember it for as long as I live as one of the single most important days of my life.

A moment please
I usually post pictures on my blog, but today I feel the need to post a message. Most all of you know I support Barack Obama for President of the United States. I wanted to find out, like most everyone in America, a little bit about John McCain's new running mate. So I watched the Republican convention when she spoke. I have to say, she is an impressive speaker... that said, I want to just clear up a few things that people who don't know about Barack Obama may not know. If you would like to go to the following link, at the Library of Congress, you can enter his name and find all of the Bills he has sponsored. Yes, he has sponsored many. Many on his own and many with others. http://thomas.loc.gov/
My other comment is about being a community organizer. Some of you know I do volunteer work with the homeless, I have worked with so many great people in the community who do wonderful work who bring attention to politicians of causes that otherwise would not have been recognized. Millions of people have found that by coming together in their local communities they can change the course of history. That's called community organizing! I am sorry, but Ms. Palin's comment about the unimportance of Barack Obama's community organizing work was not just a slam at people I have worked with, but it lacked character.
I am sure Sarah Palin is a fine woman, but I can tell you what I know for a fact, I know that Barack Obama is a fine man. A man with character and integrity who is fit to lead this country. I work with men who know him personally, and that they have assured me that my feelings that I have in my heart about him are in fact good honest feelings of the man they know.
I now retreat from my soap box.

Scotland - More of our trip
Royal Aberdeen Golf Club, Est. 1790
David tees off on the first at Royal Aberdeen.
Royal Aberdeen, Scotland.
The green awaits....
Another one of the most beautiful walks we took this year. Royal Aberdeen, Scotland.
The 18th at Royal Aberdeen as we walk home.
The Clubhouse at Carnoustie Golf Links. Est. 1850
It rained the whole day. This is the only picture I got because David played and I sat in the Clubhouse and drank tea, ate cookies and read my book....and shopped!
But he survived Carnoustie!

Kingsbarns Golf Links
It started raining right before we went off on the first tee. The wind was blowing about 25 mph and it was a "wee bit chilly", but I braved the elements with David and his foursome and walked the course at Kingsbarns Golf Links (without rain pants). David above is bundled up like a toddler in a rainsuit! My umbrella and I blew all over the golf course, but you will see some of the most beautiful pictures following...I am glad I made the walk, and the golf was pretty good to.
The 2nd hole.
6th Hole @ Kingsbarns.

Looking back at the course from the 7th green. You can see the rain!

The 8th @ Kingsbarns.

A view from 6th green of the Castle Course. This was the newest course we played in Scotland. It opened this summer. David really liked it.

We loved this course, but it killed us. :)

Some of the most beautiful ocean views were at Cruden Bay Golf Course.
You have to love this view!!!
Another beautiful Cruden Bay, Scotland view. Can you believe we were here??
Not only were we here, but David played this incredible course!! What a treat for him to play this and for me to be able to walk it with him. Beautiful!

Princess Abigail Turns 4 Years Old
Princess Abigail turned 4 years old on July 8th. We celebrated her birthday early on Sunday so I could be there to celebrate before I left to go home to Virginia. She was a true Princess......
Abigail with her Ariel cake that I made her. These cakes were a lot easier to make when Josh and Jana were kids!
This little Princess blew all the candles out with one try! All wishes come true today!
Daddy cuts the cake!
I just love this picute of Abigail talking the Aunt Marin as she is opening her presents. This really shows her wonderful, bright personality. This is the Abigail we all love so very much! Happy Birthday sweet girl!
Theo Oliver gave Abigail this puppy...he yepps and coos and has his own little carrying bag.
A castle of puppies from PaPa and Grandma Natalie...this is sure the give may hours of fun. She was playing with it when I left for the airport on Monday!
Of course Grandma Kathleen and Grandpa David gave Abigail a....Computer....her very first computer that plugs into her TV and has many learning games on it to get her ready for Kindergarten. Give her a few years and we will have her hooked up to email and a blog site of her own!
Oh so cute pants from PaPa and Grandma Natalie!
What Birthday Party for a 4 year old Princess would be complete without Optimus Prime? Well definately not one for Abigail...he is her favorite!
Mommy at Optimus Prime.
Daddy as Optimus Prime. It was a wonderful party...hosted by Dennis and Natalie...Sabrina's Dad and Step-mom. Really a family B-B-Q that turned into a nice Birthday celebration for Abigail. It was lots of fun hanging out and Abigail enjoyed playing with her cousins and Aunts and Uncles and of coures opening her presents and eating her cake. I was so happy I was there for the celebration!! Yes...Theo Oliver was there, I just forgot to take any pictures of him during all the excitment....he was wonderful as usual...he slept...he was awake...he ate...and he pooped!
4th of July Fireworks in Logan...well it was on the 3rd!
Some of the Fireworks at Utah State University Romney Field on July 3rd.
Abigail loved the fireworks, and so did her Aunt Marin, PaPa and Grandma Natalie.
More of the same...
We had a really nice time with Sabrina's family watching the fireworks across the street from Romney Stadium in Logan. There were tons of people, but I was amazed at how kind everyone was to each other and how it seemed like we were in our own little world. We missed Josh so much, because he had to work, but Abigail loved the fireworks with the awe that only an almost 4 year old can have. Theo Oliver slept through the entire thing in the arms of his PaPa, Grandma Natalie and Aunt Marin...needless to say, he was a happy little boy.

Becky, Kids & Heidi Come for a Visit!
Today Becky, Heidi, Emilee and Kyler came to Logan to visit us and to meet Baby Theo-Oliver for the first time. Actually it was the first time for Becky and the kids to meet Sabrina and Abigail too! We had so much fun visiting and talking about when Josh was little and hearing the story of how Sabrina and Josh met. The kids had lots of fun dressing up and playing in Abigail's room and became fast friends! Time went by too fast and everyone promised to keep in touch and visit often.

More fun with Josh's family
I have been having more fun with Josh's family. Yesterday Sabrina, Abigail, Theo Oliver and I went to the pool and while Sabrina and Theo Oliver watched, Abigail and I had a wonderful time swimming and playing. We are going to go to the 4th of July Celebration fireworks (celebrated here on the 3rd....go figure). We are going to celebrate Abigail's birthday this Sunday, a few days early so I can be here for it. So more to come after we have our celebrations.

Getting the hang of this
I may be getting the hang of this. I was labeling the pictures all wrong, so I had to go in and edit all of my posts, so they now show up on the same day...I think. But I did not post them all on the same day...oh well. Anyway, I may take a leap into this blogging world yet. Hope you all enjoy the photos of our sweet family here in Logan. Josh, Sabrina, Abigail and Theo Oliver are all doing well and getting settled. I am enjoying spending time with them. But it is a little hot~

Info about our Baby Theo
Sweet Baby Theo, below and above, was born on June 25th, 2008 at about 8:30 p.m. after 13 hours of labor. Sabrina and Josh were both very tired and Abigail and I were tired too! But we were tired from WAITING all day! He is a beautiful little boy and we all love him very much. He is a wonderful mixture of his Mom and his Dad and you can see them both in him from his toes to his nose. He weighs 7 lbs 11 oz., is 21 inches long and has just a little bit of hair. He is quiet and peaceful, except when he is hungry or being changed...then he lets you know he is there! Big Sister Abigail loves having him on her lap and holding his hand, and Mom and Dad just can't seem to put him down. And of course, Grandma holds him every moment she gets a chance. More to come later....for now it is off to the hospital.

New Blog
Ok, so everyone in our family has a blog, and I did not. Well I am here in Utah, and it is very difficult to share pictures of our newest member of the family without sending emails that are HUGE. Sooo, here I am, starting a blog too! But I promise to share lots of pictures and news about the whole family.
